What are trigger email chains?

Trigger email chains are a series of automatic emails sent in response to specific user actions (or inaction) on a website. They are one of the most effective email marketing tools because they allow you to communicate with the customer at the right moment with relevant content.

How does it work?

Imagine a visitor to your online store adds a product to the cart but does not complete the order. A regular store would simply lose that customer. But with a trigger chain, after, say, 30 minutes they receive an email: "You forgot these items!". Such personalized communication significantly increases the likelihood of a purchase.

Triggers can vary: adding to cart, viewing a certain category, search with no results, registration, birthday celebration, returning to the site after a long absence, and so on.

Why are trigger emails more effective than bulk newsletters?

What types of trigger chains exist?

  1. Abandoned cart – reminders about items left in the cart.
  2. Welcome series – after registration or first purchase.
  3. Abandoned browse – offers for products that were viewed but not bought.
  4. Post‑purchase – thank you, review request, recommendations.
  5. Reactivation – for customers who haven’t bought in a long time.
  6. Seasonal / holiday – birthday greetings, holiday reminders.

TrigLux allows you to configure any of these scenarios, as well as create your own unique chains for your business. Thanks to custom selector selection, we guarantee accurate trigger firing on your website.
